“Awards galore at Happy Houndz boarding kennels and pet services”
As part of this year’s nominations for the National Apprenticeship Awards, Happy Houndz received nominations in two categories from Myerscough College workbased Assessor Emily Tiplady. Animal Care Apprentice Beth Cresswell from Gleaston, Ulverston was nominated for Intermediate Apprentice of the Year, and Happy Houndz itself was nominated for Small Employer of the Year.
Myerscough College have awarded Highly Commended awards for both categories and these were presented during a recent visit to Happy Houndz. Peter Caney explains the reasons behind the awards and how Happy Houndz has fully embraced Apprenticeships within the business.
Peter said; “What is clear at Happy Houndz is that Apprenticeships are fully embedded within the development plans for the business. They currently employ three apprentices and take an active role in supporting their training and development in the workplace. It is great to see the investment in apprentices having a significant impact on business growth and this is a great example of apprenticeships working at their best. We are delighted to award certificates and plaques to Beth and Julie for their high levels of motivation and commitment to the scheme.”
